Owes her his life about six times over. Thinks she's basically a nerdy angel, if kind of slow. Currently shares House 8 with her and Ikusaba Mukuro. Fuck with Nanami and Kuzuryuu will fucking kneecap you. She may or may not be slipping into that empty 'little sister' slot in his heart. And he's very glad she's there.
Jack is adopting Fuyuhiko, apparently. Fuyuhiko isn't aware of that just yet, but Jack puts him at ease with his jokes and he likes spending time around the man, even if he's a vigilante superhero. There's also a part of him, deep down where he keeps everything he couldn't show as heir to the yakuza, that admires Jack's unapologetic goodness. He feels protective of that in Jack, and will resort to unsavory tactics to keep that light intact, if he feels he must.
Jack doesn't know either that he's successor to a yakuza clan or what went down on Jabberwock Island, and Fuyuhiko is afraid of what he might say if and when he finds out.
Like Jack, Steve has a goodness in him that's both inspiring and grounding, a stable footing for everyone around him. Steve's a little more intimidating to Fuyuhiko, because he's just SUCH a hero, and Fuyuhiko's always keenly aware of what he isn't, next to Steve. But Steve's also willing to trust him anyway, and that means a hell of a lot to him. He'd do bad things to protect Steve's goodness, too, even though he knows Steve wouldn't thank him for it.
He's also taken an interest in Steve's friend Bucky, since he sees so many parallels with his own life. He really wants things to get better for them.
Steve knows about Jabberwock Island, but not about the yakuza thing.
He feels a kind of kinship with this kid who didn't get to grow up around normal people. The brat obviously needs friends. And, well, Kuzuryuu can relate--especially now that he knows Damian Grew Up Crime. He's divulged his own yakuza background to the Batkid. Rapport is a thing that is happening.
More like THE STEAMROLLER OF FRIENDSHIP. God dammit, Nanami. Why did you do this to him. Maya's clearly got more depth to her than just cheerful lawyer sidekick medium, though, and her company is both refreshing and, because of her clear insight, slightly unnerving.
She knows about the yakuza thing and is at least familiar with what his time on the School Trip of Mutual Killing entailed, but she didn't ask for details.
Both well-informed and easy to talk to. The first cross-canon CR to discover his yakuza background; and he hasn't told anyone else, even though Kuzuryuu didn't ask him to keep it under wraps.
"Pendragon-dono": The one person so far who's inspired Kuzuryuu to use honorifics. Mature and dignified. A weird prodigy at gambling. Also, shorter than Kuzuryuu. Very important.
Though they started off with Kuzuryuu bullying the unliving daylights out of poor Conbat, they've since bonded over being horrible monsters. He let Conrad know about the yakuza thing, but Jabberwock Island is still under wraps.
Business partner and fellow investigator into the workings of the world. Kuzuryuu appreciates his smarts, but not as much as he appreciates how Eddie goes out of his way to acknowledge his background.
He hasn't told Eddie anything about himself, but I at least wouldn't be surprised if he's figured out at least the yakuza thing.
All he knows about her is she's another student from Hope's Peak, the SHSL Soldier. That makes her someone he owes and someone to take care of. She was in the 78th Class, so that also makes her his kouhai. That matters more than the fact that she's kind of suspicious. Reminds him of Peko. She also actually knows what happened at Hope's Peak, and he'll be asking her about it when he's convinced she won't have a panic attack over it.
Man, what is wrong with this poor bastard? The guy's got the worst case of survivor's guilt Kuzuryuu's ever seen. He feels weirdly responsible for him, especially after what he put Hiroshi through during the Night Mare event.
